This course is designed to familiarize you with the demands of Underwater Archaeology under the worst possible conditions. Your comfort with "black water diving" will be tested and your skills improved as a result of this training.
Graduation will allow your membership in the Southwest Underwater Archaeology Society (S.U.A.S.). S.U.A.S. was founded by the Texas Historical Commission to allow public access to Texas' historic wrecks, with the idea to assist in the documentation of these sites.
There are diving and non-diving memberships. Demand for S.U.A.S. members is worldwide because of this extensive training.
